English teacher Aaltsje tells us all about their adventure:
“After a long bus trip, we started off our week in England by visiting Dover Castle. Then, we drove on to Hastings where we were picked up by our host families and had dinner.
On Tuesday we visited the city of Brighton and the royal pavilion. And we went to Beachy Head (the highest chalk cliffs of England) where we had a long and beautiful walk along the cliffs and ate fish and chips.
On Wednesday we visited a British school where we were able to interact with British students and follow some lessons. Afterwards, we went to Battle Abby (where the famous 1066 battle of Hastings took place) and in the evening we played minigolf.
Thursday was our last day, we went to London where we visited the Natural History Museum. In the afternoon we had some free time to do shopping and sightseeing. In the evening we went to the musical the Lion King!
All in all, we've had a great week in England with lovely weather, lots of laughter and lots of learning! We already want to go back!"
